FAQ

How come I have squirrels in the attic?

If you have squirrels in your attic, it’s usually because they’ve found an easy way inside. Squirrels like attics because they provide a safe, warm place to build nests and store food. Here are a few reasons why squirrels might end up in your attic:

1. Access Points: Squirrels can squeeze through surprisingly small openings. They might enter through gaps in the roof, broken vents, or holes in the eaves. Once they find a way in, they can make themselves at home.

2. Food Sources: If you have bird feeders or other food sources outside, squirrels might be attracted to your property. They might come into the attic to store food or find shelter.

3. Warmth and Safety: Attics are warm and protected from the weather, making them a cozy spot for squirrels, especially during colder months. They also offer protection from predators.

4. Nesting Material: Squirrels will use insulation, paper, or other materials in your attic to build nests. They’re resourceful and can make nests with whatever they find.

To keep squirrels out, make sure to seal any entry points and remove any food sources that might attract them. If you already have squirrels in your attic, it’s best to call a wildlife removal expert to help safely remove them.
